When we were staying at Balloch, at the southern end of Loch Lomond, we came across a pair of water birds. We thought they were geese – but none like we had ever  seen before.  The locals said they hadn’t seen them before.  Friends have been unable to identify them.  They had moved on by our second day. I searched two bird books on the British Isles and found nothing to resemble them

Can you identify them for me?  I expect it is something quite common and I may look foolish, but I really would like to know what these turkey-geese are.

We now know these are Muscovy Ducks – thanks to Yvonne – see comments below.

I wouldn't call this one beautiful - in fact I don't know what to call it - Help!
